SLICING STATIC

Slicing Static examines the refusal of rules set by society. With the audience is placed on three sides of the stage, the division between performers and spectators is erased as the dancers ignore the limits of the choreographic space, even moving under the tiered rows of seats in a highly unusual use of the performance space. Quijada continues his exploration of non-linear character development as well as his collaboration with Mitchell Akiyama and Yan Lee Chan.

The premiere of Slicing Static took place in September 2004 at Usine C, in Montreal.

Coproduced by RUBBERBAND and Usine C with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
