In June, Victor was named a Companion of the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec, alongside Daniel Bélanger, Lorraine Desmarais, Jacques Fournier, D. Kimm, Diane Landry, Michel Levasseur, Manuel Mathieu, Mireille Métellus and Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui. A recognition that supports his rich and inspiring career!
Here’s an excerpt from Victor’s speech:
“It’s here in Quebec that I’ve been able to build and create RUBBERBAND, to bring together all the influences that are part of me, but also the different cultures that have shaped me. Quebec has given me the space to develop a unique choreographic voice, nourished both by my origins and by everything I’ve discovered here. It’s an honor, every time, to present my work to Quebec audiences. To be part of this artistic effervescence, to collaborate with dancers from Quebec and elsewhere, and to contribute, in my own way, to the cultural vitality of this province.”
