Founded in 2002, the RUBBERBAND company currently counts over 15 creations as well as 6 short choreographic films, and is recognized worldwide for its innovation, its significant contribution in dance, and for its role in the development of a new style inspired by break, classical ballet and dance theatre — the RUBBERBAND Method.

Choreographer, performer, movie director, Victor Quijada has redefined the codes of breaking through his work. Born to Mexican parents and raised in Los Angeles, Victor Quijada was first trained in the b-boying circles and hip-hop clubs of his hometown. He joined Rudy Perez in 1994, moved to THARP! in New York in 1996 and worked with Les Ballets Tech in 1999 before arriving in Montreal in 2000, where he joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

The hallmark of the company, the RUBBERBAND Method comprises a unique choreographic vocabulary developed by Victor Quijada. It is now taught throughout the world in university programs, workshops, and master classes.

In collaboration with our agency Pentacle (Dance Works Inc.), we are pleased to present the RUBBERBAND GREEN FUND! Discover all the details of this new initiative, which will take shape during our 2024 – 2025 season.

The Green Fund is an eco-touring initiative offering a US$2,000 grant to U.S. presenters who support our eco-friendly touring efforts. Presenters who book a show in the two designated windows in fall 2024 and spring 2025 will be eligible for financial support through our Green Fund.

Our aim is to lower our overall carbon footprint by reducing transport between engagements, while raising awareness of environmental sustainability and illustrating how, by working together, we can make a difference.
